I always feel sorry for those given white feather for standing up for their beliefs! Then again many countries shot deserters or flogged them for insolence! I like to think we have moved on from that situation, but has everyone?<br /><br />Like I said, we should remember the lives lost. But, we should bear in mind the countless lives that have been lost since then too.<br /><br />"Freedom" comes at a price.Vanessahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16607673377543904060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5564162101504275312.post-15307159020820046502014-11-13T00:29:11.090-08:002014-11-13T00:29:11.090-08:00Very true,Vanessa. Those who decide countries should go to war don't usually fight it themselves. this has always been so and nothing has changed. if we think of the billions spent on weaponry to kill people and destroy, it makes me sick - especially when so many other millions are without proper food and shelter. The saddest thing about the sacrifices made by all these millions of soldiers and citizens is that it was and is pointless and need never have been. Sorry, rant over, but for me remembrance day is most of all about WW1 - the most tragic (to me) and the most pointless war ever. When I see the graves in northern France and Belgium, I can hardly bear the sadness of them.Vallypeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08309284606572565277noreply@blogger.com
